The Experience

Nothing else like it in
the Bay Area

Redwood Nights is Marin County's most intimate live experience — a show where world-class storytellers share true personal stories beneath a century-old redwood grove that has held human gatherings since 1922.

These trees hold stories generations longer than the people who are here.

— Suzanne Pullen, audience member · CBS San Francisco

Every show features 4–6 storytellers handpicked from NPR, The Moth, HBO, PBS, Emmy-nominated productions, and Off Broadway. No scripts. No fiction. No phones. Just human beings, standing in front of you, telling the truest stories of their lives.

This is what Don Reed calls the other AI — Authentic Interaction. In an age of screens and algorithms, Redwood Nights offers something increasingly rare: a room full of people leaning forward at exactly the same moment, feeling something together.

The voice that holds
the grove together

I stepped into the circle planted by Mike's grandfather, immediately got choked up, called a friend and said: 'I'm standing in a very special place right now. I can feel it.' In that moment, Redwood Nights was born.

— Don Reed, Host & Creator of Redwood Nights

Don Reed is NPR's Snap Judgment Storyteller of the Year and a newly minted Simon & Schuster author. His solo storytelling shows have won and been nominated for multiple Theatre Bay Area, Off Broadway NY, and NAACP Awards.
